Features

Forma Spherical, globular, characterized more or less by broad basal hollow.
Dimensione Hazel to hen's egg.
Peridio Warty broad, acute or flat at apex black in color.
Gleba Grayish-brown in color and furrowed with numerous whitish wavy veins.
Spore Alveolate ochraceous in color, contained in the axils in numbers from 1 to 5.
Profumo Very strong odor does not make it valuable.
Maturazione September to January.
Habitat Prefers calcareous soils, neutral or sub-alkaline Ph , tolerating a more varied habitat than Tuber Melanosporum. It is found at altitudes as high as 1,300 meters.
